Bonn (ots) – 90 years ago, American Donald B. Watt started an international exchange project – “The Experiment in International Living” – to promote intercultural understanding and peaceful coexistence. Today, 90 years later, the German branch of the oldest non-profit exchange organization “Experiment – Dein Austauschorganisation” pursues the same goals and is committed to tolerance, mutual understanding and peace. . Values ​​that should be at the center of attention right now. In order to give even more people the opportunity for this valuable intercultural exchange, the association awards two full scholarships (excluding flights) for a three-month voluntary service in Ecuador or Mexico in the anniversary year.

The scholarships are provided by the estate of Christiane Wolff, honorary member of the association, and her husband Heimbert. During their lifetime, the two have worked as volunteers for international understanding and have been host families for a total of approximately 7,000 international guests. Ms. Wolff received the Federal Cross of Merit for her outstanding volunteer commitment. It has always been important to her that the intercultural exchange continues and that as many young people as possible have this valuable experience. Thanks to the grants, two volunteers now have the chance to make their own contribution to a more tolerant world.

Cosmopolitan and interested people between the ages of 18 and 29 who want to do a three-month voluntary service in Mexico or Ecuador can apply until May 20, 2022.
